General Haulage & Distribution

Wm Armstrong's is a privately owned company and we are proud of our success achieved through focusing on customer requirements and then providing specific transport solutions. We operate all year round providing 100% on-time deliveries to many blue chip customers.

The service is backed up by efficient vehicle planning and modern communication systems to ensure that time-sensitive delivery schedules are maintained, and service levels are continuously monitored to ensure that we continue to provide our customers with a high level of service. Wm Armstrong is a member of the Road Haulage Association.

Wm Armstrong's has a vast experience in handling a wide variety of cargoes from single pallet consignments to full loads throughout the UK. From our Head Office in Longtown at the gateway to Scotland, we are ideally situated to ensure that the most critical deliveries can be achieved.

NEW Fork Lift Delivery/Collection Service

Wm Armstrong now offer a national Fork Lift Delivery and Collection service direct to customers' sites using our new Palfinger and Moffett Mounty Fork Lift Trucks, attached to the rear of our trailers.

Our Fork Lift Delivery and Collection service reduces the risk of our delivery vehicles getting stuck in muddy conditions or in restricted areas. Our trucks are also less likely to damage customers' property or be damaged themselves, altogether resulting in faster, safer deliveries.

Warehousing

Wm Armstrong offers warehousing space of up to 100,000 square feet in the Carlisle and South & Central Scotland areas through our depots at Longtown, Carlisle and Uddingston, Glasgow with additional secure external storage as required.

As a member of the PalletFORCE network, we have access to storage facilities at various locations throughout the UK including Caithness, Burton-on-Trent, Preston, Bristol, & Kings Lynn.

Our warehouses have easy access racking systems and our warehouse teams control stock in strict rotation to ensure that every pallet is handled and moved safely and securely and that products leave our warehouses in first class condition.

Wm Armstrong's can provide existing and potential customers with handling and storage to suit their precise needs.

Hazardous/ADR Goods

Wm Armstrong have extensive experience in many areas of transport, and are able to offer customers specialist haulage services including the safe transportation of hazardous/ADR goods. We can offer new and existing customers a Nationwide Next Day and Economy service for the distribution of hazardous and ADR packaged goods from a quarter pallet to full loads.

All of our drivers and staff are trained to ensure that goods are handled and stored safely and that the correct procedure is followed for each customer's products.

At the gateway to Scotland, Wm Armstrong can offer customers a Scottish distribution service to complete a national coverage.
